The American Playwriting Foundation administers and operates the Relentless Awards, the largest annual cash prize in American theater awarded to a playwright in recognition of an unproduced play, or to a creative team in recognition of an unproduced musical. Established in honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman and his pursuit of truth in the theater, the Relentless Awards have been a leading force in the recognition of fearless, singular new voices. 

Submissions for our 2026 Relentless Musical Award will open on December 1st, 2025 and close on January 1st, 2026.
